KRT title defence campaign presented in Barcelona

Thursday, 30 January 2014 21:24 GMT

Tom Sykes, Loris Baz and David Salom stars of the event along with 2014 ZX-10R

The reigning Superbike World Championship-winning squad Kawasaki Racing Team presented its 2014 team this evening at Pabellón Mies van der Rohe in Barcelona. Provec, the Spanish-based works entrant of the Japanese manufacturer, will once again compete for the ultimate prize with its trusted line-up of WSBK Champion Tom Sykes and Loris Baz. In 2013 Sykes made history as the first World Superbike title winner for Kawasaki in 20 years, courtesy of a stellar season, comprising 9 race wins, 18 podiums and 8 Tissot Superpole successes. Baz’s only top-step finish, at Silverstone, made a nice round total of 10 wins for KRT last year.

The presentation was also the perfect chance to unveil the 2014 ZX-10R in its new livery. Tom’s Ninja proudly displayed the #1 plate he recently decided to use for his first title-defending campaign, rather than his customary #66.

The new EVO project started by Kawasaki and Provec was also represented at the event with rider David Salom and the crew that will help him in developing, testing and racing for success in the brand-new WSBK class.
